Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This policy covers the Kokoy Dictionary website (this site) and the Kokoy Dictionary Chrome extension. Both are built and maintained by a single community member from Wesley, Dominica, not a company, and neither requires an account or login.
What we collect
Neither the website nor the extension collects personal information as a condition of use. The only data submitted is what you choose to enter yourself:
- Word suggestions. If you use the "Suggest a Word" form, the Kokoy word and English meaning you type are sent to Web3Forms, a third-party form delivery service, which forwards them by email. Web3Forms may log standard submission metadata (such as IP address) under its own privacy policy. No account or identity is required to submit a suggestion.
- Streak counter (extension only). The Chrome extension stores your last-visit date and current daily streak using
chrome.storage.local. This stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
Analytics
This website may use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate usage, such as which words are viewed, which categories are filtered, and whether the suggestion form is used, all without collecting names, emails, or other identifying information. See Google's privacy policy for how Google handles that data. The Chrome extension does not include Google Analytics or any other tracking.
Third-party links
The site and extension link out to Ko-fi (for optional donations) and GitHub (for the project's source code and issue tracker). Each is governed by its own privacy policy.
Data deletion
Since word suggestions aren't tied to an identity, there's no account data to delete. If you'd like a specific suggestion removed or have any other privacy question, contact jerlyn@designlady.com.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change with it.
