Neither this site nor the extension sells or shares your data with anyone. The extension doesn't send anything to us at all. The site uses basic, aggregate analytics and an optional suggestion form, both described below.
The extension does not collect, transmit, or have access to any of your data. It has no server of its own and makes no network requests except opening this website in a new tab when you ask it to (a lookup result, "Open in Archive," or the Support/website/LinkedIn links).
Saved words, your daily streak, and your light/dark theme choice are stored using your browser's own extension storage (chrome.storage.sync). That data lives in your Google or Firefox account's sync infrastructure — the same mechanism that syncs your bookmarks or passwords across your devices — encrypted and managed by Google or Mozilla, not by us. We never see it, and it never reaches any server we control.
The extension's right-click "look up selection" feature reads the text you've selected on a page only at the moment you choose that menu item, to open the matching search on this site. It doesn't read, store, or transmit anything else on the page.
The site uses Google Analytics for basic, aggregate usage statistics (which pages are visited, roughly how many people, from what kind of device) — the standard, cookie-based measurement most websites use. It doesn't identify you personally.
The "Suggest a Word or Phrase" form is optional. If you submit it, the word/meaning/pronunciation/example you enter — and your name/contact only if you choose to include it — is sent via Web3Forms to our email so we can review it for the glossary. It's never posted publicly automatically, and nothing is submitted unless you fill out and send that form yourself.
